"Everyone who finishes the ULTRA Bike is a winner." This sentence was coined by Mike Kluge shortly after he won the first edition of the Black Forest ULTRA Bike Marathon in 1997.

At the gateway to Germany’s Black Forest, Kirchzarten is a true cycling stronghold with a long tradition in mountain biking. Its scenic valleys and forested trails make it a favorite training ground and race venue, offering both challenging terrain and authentic hospitality. As the home of the Black Forest ULTRA Bike Marathon, Kirchzarten combines sporting passion with the charm of a welcoming alpine town.
TEMPERATURES
Temperatures in July are usually summery warm, reaching 30°C in the valleys on sunny days. Nevertheless, it can also be cool on the peaks. Depending on the weather, low temperatures of about 10°C are possible as well.
Race Course
118 KM | 3.550 HM
118 kilometers and 3,550 meters of altitude characterize the traditional race in the heart of the Black Forest. The race takes place on and around the Feldberg mountain that, with its 1492 meter peak, is the landmark of Germany's largest low mountain range. Join us in the Dreisam-Valley and the Upper Black Forest to be part of this atmospheric marathon classic that attracts around 5,000 cycling enthusiasts year after year.

The Black Forest ULTRA Bike Marathon attracts numerous bikers and spectators from near and far each year.

2026 HWC Price Money
The 2026 HERO UCI Marathon World Cup boasts a total jackpot of € 25,000. The prizes and the winners of the HERO UCI Marathon World Cup will be awarded on 20 September 2026 at the final overall HWC Award Ceremony during La Tramun Sea Otter Europe in Girona/Costa Brava (ESP).
All cash prizes are subject to tax withholdings. As per Law 91/1981 (Article 3, Paragraph 2, Letter a) and DPR 600/1973, the withholding tax for Italian residents is 20%, while for non-residents, it is 30%.
