Anna Weinbeer and Jakob Dorigoni triumph in round two of the 2026 HERO UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup

Dear HEROes,

If you were on Elba Island, you already know. If you couldn’t make it, let us take you there: technical trails, breathtaking views over the Tyrrhenian Sea and a race ridden full gas from start to finish.

The Capoliveri Legend Cup delivered an electrifying second round of the 2026 HERO UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup, once again confirming itself as one of the most spectacular and highly anticipated events on the calendar.

On the demanding marathon course of 73 km and 2,600 metres of elevation gain, 181 Elite and Master Licence riders from 22 nations battled for crucial points towards the overall standings, while more than 1,700 amateur riders filled the streets and trails of Capoliveri, creating an atmosphere unlike any other.

Women Elite: Weinbeer untouchable

In the women’s race, Anna Weinbeer (KTM Spada powered by Brenta Brakes) delivered a stunning performance. The Swiss rider attacked early and rode solo all the way to the finish line, crossing the line more than four minutes ahead of Natalia Fischer (Extremadura Ecopilas), while third place went to Lejla Njemčević.

A dominant display that confirms Weinbeer as one of the standout athletes of the 2026 season.

Men Elite: an all-Italian podium

Jakob Dorigoni claimed victory after an intense race decided only in the final metres. Following a long breakaway alongside Stefano Goria, the South Tyrolean rider found the decisive move at the finish to take the win.

Stefano Goria finished second, while Gioele De Cosmo completed an all-Italian podium in front of the passionate Elba crowd.

Belgium’s Wout Alleman, current UCI World Cup leader, finished just off the podium but successfully defended his overall leader jersey.

The Master Licence categories also delivered great racing, with victories for current UCI World Cup holders Alexandre Lladó Diaz and Anna Magoń-Romanów.

Next stop: the Pyrenees!

With Capoliveri now in the books, the HERO UCI Marathon World Cup caravan is already looking ahead: in less than three weeks, the series heads to Naturland Andorra for round #3 on 31 May 2026.

With Weinbeer and Alleman still wearing the leader jerseys, the battle is far from over.

The season is heating up.
And we can’t wait to experience it together with you.
