Just one month to go until the fifth and final round of the 2025 HERO UCI Marathon World Cup!
Dear HEROes,
Have you rested and recharged your batteries? How have your training sessions been going? There’s still some time left but, if you haven’t already done it, don’t forget to save the date for the La Tramun Sea Otter Europe, which will be held on 21 September in Girona on the Costa Brava. Prepare for an exciting race which will determine the winners of the 2025 HERO UCI Marathon World Cup!
THE NEXT CHAMPIONS…?
After the fourth round in Germany during the Black Forest ULTRA Bike Marathon, the game is still on and anything could happen. Rosa van Doorn, from The Netherlands and racing for team Buff-Megamo, leads the Elite Women category with 860 points, chased by Sandra Mairhofer from Italy just 150 points behind. The same applies to the men’s team: Andreas Seewald, from Germany and representing Singer KTM Racing, leads the Men Elite ranking thanks to his wins during the third and fourth round with 830 points, followed by Buff-Megamo’s Wout Alleman from Belgium and his 700 points, with Gioele De Cosmo, Torpado Kenda FSA, trailing third with 616 points
THE MASTER LICENCE RANKING
The amateur Master Licence athletes are going through a similar situation: with nearly 50 cyclists taking part in the World Cup in this category, Alexandre Llado Diaz from Spain spearheads the men’s ranking with his 850 points, and the Spanish round will probably be a walk in the park for him. The second place is currently held by Andrea Borgogno from Italy, with 615 points, while Nicola Rizzi, also from Italy, is third with 520 points. In the Women’s category, the Cup seems to be heading safely to Poland as Kamila Gurzyńska leads with 700 points, and Sophie Johnson from the United Kingdom in second position with 250 points.
UCI TEAMS RANKING
It’s a neck and neck race even in the UCI Teams ranking: Buff-Megamo Team lead the way with 2090 points scored over the last four rounds, followed by Team Torpado Kenda FSA with 1724 points, and Team Singer KTM Racing with 1277.
