THE PYRENEES SET THE STAGE FOR THE HERO UCI MARATHON WORLD CUP: NATURLAND ANDORRA HOSTS ROUND #3 OF THE 2026 SEASON

the 2026 HERO UCI Marathon World Cup is approaching its halfway point and, on Sunday 31 May, we will begin to understand who is truly in contention for the final UCI World Cup podium.
For the second consecutive year, the Naturland Andorra sports venue - located at 2,000 metres above sea level in the heart of the Pyrenees - will host a round of the UCI World Cup. Following valuable feedback from athletes and teams, the 2026 edition introduces a major course update: a loop circuit to be completed three times.
The result? A spectacular 64 km course with 2,239 metres of elevation gain featuring technical descents, rocky single tracks and a demanding final climb reaching over 2,000 metres altitude.
This Pyrenean course is a true concentration of emotion, effort and pure MTB fun. Demanding yet spectacular, every metre requires focus, strong legs and serious determination. Here, endurance alone is not enough: the race is also a true test of technical skills, bike handling and race control, alternating fast sections with highly technical terrain. A complete challenge - the kind that literally takes your breath away.
The world’s top elite marathon riders will line up at the start. Belgium’s Wout Alleman and Switzerland’s Anna Weinbeer from KTM Spada powered by Brenta Brakes arrive in Andorra as leaders of the HERO UCI Marathon World Cup standings after their victories in Calpe-Benissa and Capoliveri. Challenging them will be other big names such as Rosa Van Doorn and Spain’s Natalia Fischer from Team Extremadura Ecopilas.
On the men’s side, Stefano Goria - runner-up in Capoliveri - will also be on the starting grid alongside the HERO legend himself, Leonardo Paez of the Leecougan Basso Factory Racing Team and winner of the 2025 Andorra edition.
Everything points towards a thrilling showdown between the leading contenders for the overall title. While the season will not be decided in Andorra, this race will certainly provide important indications for the final standings.
